Myanmar decided to extend its wings of rice market to African countries in order to increase export volume of rice, said Deputy Chief Executive Oficer U Myint Lwin of Myanmar Rice Federation.
Oficials of the federation will make trips to African countries in coming October in order to extend the Myanmar’s rice market. Hence, the federation oficials arrange to make their trips together with government officials and those from the Ministry of Commerce.
“We will try to urge the customer countries to purchase a large volume of high quality rice from Myanmar. Meanwhile, we will seek other new customers for rice,” said the deputy chief executive oficer.
The research on Gurney’s Pitta was conducted from 2007 to 2013 and once more from 2017 to 2018. The research findings showed low-lying and plain forests for habitat of the birds disappeared, accounting for some 80 percent.Currently, Gurney’s Pitta has been identiied as the endangered bird species. Myanmar has so far sent some 500,000 tonnes of rice and more than 1,800 tonnes
of broken rice to African countries in 2018-19 iscal year. As demand of African countries are high in purchase of broken rice, oficials of Myanmar Rice Federation decided to seek new rice market in these countries so as to buy other quality rice strains.
