A Myanmar-Korea hightech rice mill built with aid from MAFRA of Korea has been opened, according to sources released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation on 30July.
The opening ceremony of the rice mill built at a cost of US$3.5 million in Yezin, Nay Pyi Taw, took place on 29 July afternoon. The construction took three years from 2016-2017 to
2018-2019. The mill can operate for paddy yielded from 300-500 hectares of land in one season period.
The aim of the high-tech rice mill construction is to improve rice production and get good prices through rice production technics such as modern harvesting, drying, storing and million. The rice mill located in the irrigated areas of Yezin dam in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area will beneit local growers helping them with their production process through modern technology.
The rice mill opening ceremony was attended by Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Aye Maung Sein, Agriculture Department Director General Dr Ye Tint Tun, Deputy Director General U Aye Ko Ko and directors, district and township level officials and local farmers. U Aye Maung Sein spoke words of felicitation and Dr Ye Tint Tun spoke words of thanks.
Representatives from Korean Rural Community Corporation explained the purposes
of establishing the rice mill. Then, the KRC representatives handed over the rice mill.
